Hair Update & About My Hair Growth Mask!

Monday, January 4, 2021

I have shared this with you before- but after I stopped nursing Liam, I experience a ton of hair loss and thinning. Like GOBS of my hair- it broke super easily and was just a hot mess ( one of the reasons I ended up getting sewn in extensions ). So I wanted to share a quick hair update & about my hair growth mask and some other ones I love I’ve been doing from home that I think has started to help!

I’m gonna throw in some quick info about a supplement Caleb found for me on Amazon. I’ve only been taking it for about a month so I can’t really speak on it’s effectiveness just yet but from the research Caleb did- it’s one of the best. A lot of supplements will claim to have excessive of different nutrients but in reality your body can only absorb so much- so they’re usually a waste of time. It’s just a basic hair, skin, and nails supplement!

*** Update- I really loved those hair vitamins, so if you’re not pregnant or nursing they’re amazing! Shortly after I found out I was pregnant so I just stick to my prenatals for now, which BTW have great things in them for your hair too!

Now for the hair mask . . . there are 3 things I use for this- Olaplex, Castor Oil, and Coconut Oil! All great for healthy, shiny, strong hair!

First I dampen my hair just a little bit and take the olaplex to parts that are really dry/damaged etc. Once they’re nice and lathered, I section my hair and massage castor oil into my scalp- this is what is the best for hair growth (be careful- a little goes a long way and it may start to drip!). Then I finish up with coconut oil all over the rest of my hair. It’s super simple and easy but it really makes a difference!

On the left here, you can see a few months after I had stopped breastfeeding Liam how thin and stringy my hair got. GOBS AND GOBS of it were falling out (waaayy more than normal) and it just became super fragile and thin. So I finally told Hana just to chop it off as much as she could pretty frequently so we could start to let it grow back. On the right is right before my wedding without my extensions in- sooo much thicker- but we’re still working on it!

Another one that I love A LOT that helps keep the shine and repair more of those damaged ends is this one! You can never have too many good hair masks going on and this one helps to strengthen those ends as well! Being a blonde is hard sometimes- lol so make sure you are taking care of your hair!
