Today we’re talking all about hair care! I’ve been trying to grow out my hair for years- after lots of botched hair cuts and hair coloring- it’s taken it a long time to get back to a somewhat healthy state- now that it has, it’s finally starting to grow back out! So today I am going to walk you all through my routine, washing (and not washing) and my favorite styles! You can read more about growing out your hair here.

MASKS
I’m going to talk about masks first because I usually do this before I was my hair- the dirtier the better lol! All you need is 3 things: Olaplex – especially if you’re a blonde or someone who colors your hair often, castor oil, and coconut oil!
First I put the castor oil deep on my roots and scalp. This helps your hair grow thick and strong! I buy mine here off of Amazon– it’s also good for your brows and lashes. This kind comes with the brushes for both of those applications.
Next, I put the Olaplex on the damaged parts of my hair- ends, bangs, anywhere that needs a little extra love. You can purchase it here!
Lastly the coconut oil is melted down- I just scoop up a bit and melt it in my hands and run it through my hair covering most of my hair. FYI you may have to shampoo a few times to get it all the way out. But since I use the purple shampoo and regular shampoo, it gets it out easily.
WASHING
I try not to wash my hair as much as possible. It sounds kind of funny- I think it’s actually more normal nowadays- but my hair (and yours) will thank you greatly for it! I go as long as I can between washes- usually about 5-7 days depending on the hairstyle. My “natural curls” don’t last as long as a curled style because they tend to get frizzy quicker- and they need some moisture.
When I wash, I use Redken Allsoft. It’s been my favorite for years- and of course, since I’m blonde, I use a purple shampoo as well. I use the one from my salon, Whitney Evans Beauty, they make their own. But I also love the Joico one!
First when washing I use the purple shampoo- don’t be shocked- it is a VERY deep purple but as long as you don’t leave it on for like 30 minutes your hair won’t be purple. I usually leave mine on for 2-3 minutes (while I shave, etc). Then, I’ll do my normal shampoo and conditioner and I’m done!
AFTER SHOWER
Before I step out I wring out my hair as best as I can and then I will use an old t shirt to dry it out the rest of the way. Soft T shirts or a microfiber towel are the best things to use on your hair so it doesn’t break or damage it!
Once it has dried a bit and isn’t dripping. I use this leave in conditioner all over- working it through with my hands. Now is where my routine differs depending on what I’m doing with my hair.
-For natural waves:
When I do my natural waves, I also use this curl cream on areas where my hair is the frizziest. Then I will diffuse my hair all over. Even though it doesn’t really make my extensions curly- I still go all the way through so that I diffuse all of my real hair too.
After my hair is completely dry- I use this crimper to crimp the areas of my hair- mainly my extensions so that it all matches up! I did a full IGTV here
-For curls :
When I curl my hair I spray this heath protectant and styling spray all over and then brush my hair. Then I either use this blow dry brush all over until my hair is dry or I will let it air dry completely. Then I just curl my hair like normal. See how I curl my hair here.
