OUR WEDDING VIDEO

Checkout our wedding website here!

I just wanted to start off by saying we wish we could’ve had every single one of you there with us on our special day. We will have our wedding video and more photos soon- I promise!

Obviously there were a lot of things that contributed to us ultimately deciding to elope with just close family and friends- surprisingly COVID was not one of them- lol! We had actually started planning it WAYYY before it was even an issue. I had actually always dreamed of a huge, perfect wedding- the more I went to weddings and looked into planning the whole thing, the less it felt that it was ABOUT US- and US being married and more of a whole production for all of our guests. Now don’t get me wrong, I love huge weddings with ABCDEF included but at the end of the day we just decided that wasn’t for us!

If you’re thinking- wait, I thought y’all were already married?! Or just curious about our engagement- read this post first!

TIME

Time played a huge factor in our decision. With Caleb beginning med school and a lot of other personal things going one- we decided that eloping would’ve been the best, easiest option for our family. Less planning, smaller spaces, less things to buy, just sounded a lot easier to do in a short period of time and since we basically HAD to get married in the Summer- because of school. Being February when we first started planning it would’ve been almost impossible to plan a huge wedding in 6 mos or less.

MONEY

YALL- if you’ve already gotten married, then you probably already know this but weddings are SO expensive. LIKE CRAZY. Could we have saved and asked our families to help us out and had a big extravagant wedding? Probably. But again, there were few things that were that important to us that we felt okay spending that much on and that was- location (beach), photography, and my dress. That was it. Venues, food, alone are like 10K near the beach if not way more and we just felt that we could use 10K much wiser at this point in our lives- especially with a little one ( he’s expensive lol).

Now I wouldn’t say that we “cheaped out” on our wedding at all. We just did a ton of research and made a lot of things ourselves and went with what worked for us- more details to come soon- I promise!

What did I really want?

Right back when I first started planning/thinking about our wedding I actually did a poll and said if you’re already married, looking back do you wish you would’ve eloped, done it smaller, etc. I got SO MANY DMS- like probably the most I still have ever gotten saying do it. Do it smaller, elope, make it all about you all. I actually really loved reading those messages and hearing about the love stories. They were so so sweet!

Which really made me sit down and say- what do I really want? Caleb was basically like yeah, do whatever, it’s up to you! So I said lets just go to the beach which our close family and friends and do the dang thing!
