I figured compiling all this info into a blog post was the best and easiest way to convey all of this info over to you guys! So today I am writing all about the Keto diet- my favorite recipes, desserts (YES I SAID DESSERTS), coffee hacks, and more!

BUT FIRST- a disclaimer! Lol. I HIGHLY suggest talking to your doctor before making any huge changes- ESPECIALLY if you’re pregnant or have other health conditions. It can be a huge change to your body at first!

What is the Keto diet?

Keto is basically just very low carb! Some people do different variations of it- I try to stick to under 30 grams of carbs a day. This means cutting back on sugar, breads, breaded and fried foods, and your starches. For me bread was the hardest at first! But, a little secret, Aldi has 0 net carb bread- I just got ahold of it this week and it has helped curbed that craving A TON.

How do I not feel tired and week?

A lot of people complain of feeling week/tired when they first start. This is probably because our body NEEDS carbs to function, so when you take a majority of them away- it can be hard to function! So it’s super important to A) up your protein intake and B) make sure that those 30 grams of carbs you ARE consuming are GOOD CARBS- like from fruits and veggies!

Coffee Hacks

  • Order an iced triple espresso in a venti cup- and then add your favorite protein shake (mine is the caramel or cookies and creme from Premier Protein). VERY low carb and will keep you full!
  • Iced coffee with heavy cream and stevia. I’ve started getting stevia because it tastes WAY BETTER than the SF syrups!
