See my Amazon Disney Must haves here!
First Things First:
The Disney App is the KEY! You can access/book literally everything right there from the app. I recommend using it to loosely plan your day/check wait times and more. If you’re needing more dining reservations check every morning because a lot of people cancel!
WHERE WE STAYED
Port Orleans – French Quarter
While we thoroughly enjoyed our stay — we were barely there! The beds were comfy tho! There IS a lot to do around our resort. We didn’t spend much time there. There’s an arcade, playground, giant pool, restaurant, lounge, and more. We ate at the quick serve area for breakfast a few times which was super nice since it was a short walk from our room! We also did a pizza order one night and ate that in our room which was VERY relaxing! Haha. I would definitely pick there again but I also would love to try staying at the other resorts too!
Perks of staying in a Disney resort
- free parking at all parks
- Early entry to parks
- dining options at most resorts
- Lessens commute time
- Everything is connected on Disney app- easy to unlock door, request linens, and more.
Character Meals
Character meals were by far one of my favorite experiences to watch the boys enjoy! They were super fun and interactive- and all buffet style. It was so nice with the boys (ages 5 and 2 ( under 3 eats for free)) because of how picky they can be! It was also pleasant to not have to worry about the stress of meeting their favorite characters as they are guaranteed to come around to EVERY table! They are definitely pricey but 100% worth it in my opinion!
We did:
- Tusker House (Animal Kingdom)
- Cape May Cafe (Disney Beach Club)
- Hollywood and Vine
Weather at Disney
While we really only had one rainy day- and it.was.miserable. My recommendation is to plan for 1 or 2 break days in between park days, that way if you have to, you can move around your days based on weather. We only stayed for four days so that wouldn’t have worked for us, but next time I am definitely working that into the mix!
Rides while Pregnant
While there were quite a few rides that I did do. I always recommend consulting your personal doctor before making any decisions. I felt comfortable riding:
- Dumbo
- Triceratops
- Finding Nemo
- Ratatouille
- Safari
Parks by Age
My 5 year old thoroughly enjoyed every park. I think any child 5 years and older would have fun at any of the parks they went to! My two year old definitely had the best time in Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom. There was a lot more kid friendly activities and rides that he was able to do with Epcot being a close third! That being said, I don’t know if I would take a two year old by himself, I think he had fun and enjoyed it, but mostly because of Liam! I know that sounds weird but I think he would have been less interested on his own!
