Today I am doing something a little different over here on the blog! I wanted to share my grandmothers easy holiday sugar cookies. It’s not even originally hers, and has been passed down a few times down the family tree. They are super easy to make, and super delicious too! This has always been a family tradition for us. Even though our Christmas is looking a little different this year, we still FaceTimed grammy and made the cookies together on Christmas Eve!
The Recipe:
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt
3 cups flour
Instructions:
Beat butter and sugar together until they are smooth and well combined. Add in your egg and vanilla and continue mixing. Next add the salt. One cup at a time, add in the flour. Once the dough is formed, wrap in wax paper and refrigerate for 1-2 hours (or overnight if needed).
Spread flour over counter and roll out dough. Make sure when using cookie cutters to dip them in flour to before cutting out the cookies so they will not stick!
Bake for 8 minutes at 400. Frost and decorate how you like!
