Hey guys! Today I am talking about all the things that help make life with Liam super easy! He is honestly such a good baby and we are oh so blessed! I had been around babies my whole life and thought I knew everything there is to know about babies. . . WRONG. Haha. There are things that you can only learn from having one of your own- & a million more you couldn’t even think about! Even though he is great, there are still some great products out there to help out us moms.
We had one gassy little boy right from the get go! Nothing would soothe him for the longest time and we could just feel his little belly rumble. ๐ We had been using the mommy’s bliss gas drops with him and they helped a little. When those no longer did the trick, we upgraded to the gripe water. They have a day time and night time solution. We only use it during the day when he is absolutely inconsolable or we know for certain he has bad gas. The night time I usually give him after his 9/10 oclock feeding ( it has helped him sleep through the whole night). BE WARNED: do not use the dropper that comes with either kind. Liam choked on it and scared us to death! We have found that a bottle nipple works best to give it to him through, that way he can take it at his own pace!
2. Dream Baby Fan
So I have already posted about this once but it is definitely a must have! Especially if you have a summer baby. We use it on our walks (it attaches easily to the handle of his carseat or anywhere really with a small enough surface). I always get paranoid that he’s getting to hot so this is great to make sure he isn’t getting overheated. It was also great to take to the pool!
I thought I had it all planned out where Liam would sleep and had read all the things about what is best, etc., but I am here to tell you that you just do whatever works for you and your family. As long as your baby is sleeping, you’re doing great! We had the pack-n-play in our room and had planned on him sleeping in there. However, before we got him on a schedule, he was up frequently to eat and I was just a little paranoid about how he was doing! So we ended up putting him in a co-sleeper in the bed with us! It has worked out great and he sleeps 6-8 hours at night in it! It’s also perfect for traveling!! Wayyyy better than taking a pack-n-play. It’s way smaller and you can put it anywhere!
This isn’t necessarily a baby product but it has been awesome for him! His skin got really dry, even when we used lotion on him. The coconut oil helped a lot and it smells a lot better than most unscented baby lotions! It also helped with his baby acne and cradle cap! He had just a little bit of cradle cap on his forehead and I rubbed coconut oil on it like twice and it cleared up! Just make sure you read the ingredients on the bottle to be sure there isn’t any alcohol in it
I already had a cloth ring sling, but one of my friends actually showed me this one online that was made for water! She got it for me and we absolutely love it! I personally like it better for the warmer months over the cloth one because its made of out this soft meshy material. It’s breathable for baby and you can take it in the pool with you! Waterproof or cloth- ring slings are lifesavers for your back! I started using one about a month in and it changed my life! He absolutely loves it!
Maybe we just got lucky with a super easy baby and maybe this book is a miracle worker- who knows!! I highly recommend you at least try it though! It made his sleep schedule perfect! Although we’re only about 8 weeks in, it is awesome! I will keep you all updated on how it works!
Glad to hear all is going well!! You guys are great parents and have picked the hang of things quickly!! Things change as they grow and I know you guys will continue to work to figure out whatโs best for him!! ๐
